Devotional topic: NO REST
“And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither.” (1 Samuel 16: 11)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, Samuel instructed that everyone will not sit down until David arrives to be anointed as king. According to bible history and geography, the journey from the bush where David was tending to the sheep to where he was to be anointed, was more than two days’ journey. So men were to remain standing for over two days because of David. Men were to not going to rest until David ascended higher.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: men will not rest until you have ascended to your next level. God will take sleep off the eyes of men until you are elevated. God will cause men to be restless until His will for your life has been duly executed. God will cause the rest of men to be taken from them until they have done for you what He would have them do for you. The Samuel’s of this world will remain on their toes until you hit your target.
The days when kings and nobles will be relaxed whilst comfortably hindering or delaying the will of God for your life, are over. The days when men would sit on your progress, are over. The days when your helpers will go to sleep whilst you await their help endlessly, are over. The days when you will literally have to chase men to arise and do what they have to do for you, are over. The days when men will sleep and stay relaxed, instead of working in your favour, are over.
Samuel commanded men to remain standing until David arrived to be anointed as king. Samuel was a prophet. He had the word of the Lord in his mouth. So by the word of the Lord, men stood, against their wishes, until David showed up to be anointed as king. By the word of the Lord, men will be compelled to stay on their toes until the will of God for your life is fulfilled. By the word of the Lord, men will lose sleep until you rise higher.
Welcome to that season where heaven will cause kings to lose their sleep until they favour you. Welcome to that season where men will be kept on their toes until they serve your destiny and God’s will for you.
Isaiah 60: 10 says: “And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.”
Declare With Me: Kings and nobles will not sleep until they have played their role to help me rise, in Jesus’ name!
